A 'conversation' not only with the everyday and how we percieve it but also with the personal histories that make up a community. The main objective of this way of working is to gain an understanding of how the sense of a place develops. Desensitised by the visual overload of contemporary life, it's important to discover an identity through talking and listening, which can be accessed through an intergenerational community. The short Southwater 'conversation pieces' extend beyond the Southwater area to the network of streets that connect it to the rest of St Leonards and Hastings.

The residency has formed partnerships with the local primary school, Christ Church School and Hastings College Of Arts And Technology.
